We love the Retail Media X events. We've done this ever since they started originally. I think it's one of the perfect-size events where retailers can really get together, learn about the greatest trends happening today, and really learn from one another.
I've been going to events for quite some time... The excitement, the interest, and the investment from those major retailers into retail media is something that shows the industry is picking up. The Commerce Media Festival gathers people from different countries and different parts of the industry. It's a great platform, human-sized, very targeted, great quality of people, and amazing conversations.
In the last two years, there's been so many retail media events that have cropped up... but this is the one that everyone in the commerce media and retail media industry comes to because they know all of their colleagues are going to be there. This is the event in this new emerging industry — the one that you can't miss in the calendar.
The variety is very good, but also the focus is good. It's a good combination of a variety of different people and different companies, but revolving around general themes that are really relevant for everyone — and for us in particular as a global platform.
Retail media only really moves forward when the ecosystem comes together and this event does exactly that. Strong content, the right mix of perspectives and meaningful conversations that go beyond theory into what actually works in practice.
For me, there's not actually that many occasions throughout the year where we can be in a room with a large group of retailers. What Retail X is very good at is bringing retail media experts into a room together... making it more of a learning opportunity for retailers, and therefore for a vendor like us, an opportunity to actually speak to our clients and prospects. This is probably the hallmark retail media event for us in Europe.
What I would say is great about this event itself is that it started off maybe UK-focused, but now we're seeing it to be very EMEA-wide, which is brilliant. I'm hearing great insights from the top retailer in Greece to companies in Germany, France, Spain, and Portugal.
Many events in adtech are very much just adtech focused. This one's great because it really is for retail media professionals — and it's not just tech providers. There are retailers, brands, and agencies. It's really, really great.
We've had really, really good footfall, great conversations, and met brands that we've never spoken to before. It's been a really positive day. We'll probably attend again; it's been highly successful so far.
